Dr. Geoffrey Copland retired as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Westminster in July 2007, and this scholarship is named after him, in recognition of his unconditional support for the scholarship program.

2. Sheffield Hallam University Commonwealth Shared Scholarships  for Students in Developing Countries

Sheffield Hallam University participates in the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Program (CSSS) and welcomes nominations of eligible students from developing countries for the 2021/2022 scholarship.

Value: The CSSS covers tuition, living expenses, and travel expenses for the duration of a full-time master’s course.

3. British Association of International and Comparative Education (BAICE) Compare Fellowship  for Researchers in Developing Countries

BAICE has opened applications for its annual ‘Compare Fellowship’, to support early career academics from the Global South in their research and scholarship to a global audience.

“Compare” is a leading magazine in the field of comparative and international education, which publishes six issues in the field of education.

It is the official journal of the British Association for Comparative and International Education (BAICE), which supports research, teaching, and collaboration activities in this field.

Value: The scholarship will run from September 1, 2020, to August 31, 2021, and will provide full financial support (travel, accommodation, and accommodation).

4. University of Sheffield Africa Scholarship for African Students

In collaboration with the University of Sheffield Africa Scholarship Trust, the Department of Geography is pleased to offer a scholarship to a graduate student in African Education.

Eligible applicants are contacted by email with a link to our scholarship application form. This is a competitive process and not all applications will be successful; A panel of high-level personnel will select the most powerful application.

Value: A complete exemption from tuition fees and maintenance of university accommodation and monthly subsidy.

Level/Field of Study: Masters. The applicant must have applied to participate in one of the following courses at the University of Sheffield which starts in September 2021: MA International Development, Master’s Degree in Environmental Change and International Development, and MPH international development.

5. Denys Holland Scholarship for Financially Challenged Students at University College London, UK

The Denys Holland Foundation offers scholarship opportunities for students with financial difficulties who wish to pursue undergraduate studies at University College London.

The Denys Holland Scholarship is intended to help undergraduate students from all countries who, without the support of the scholarship, could not obtain the necessary funds to study at the UCL and who can demonstrate their intention to participate, make the most of the activities offered by UCL and the Student Union.

The candidate must be 25 years old or younger when starting school.

Value: The scholarship costs £ 9,000 a year for three years, subject to satisfactory academic progress. The beneficiary may choose to use all or part of the scholarship to cover their fees.

The rest is paid to the beneficiary in the form of a maintenance price. The scholarship may be combined with other grants, scholarships, awards, or scholarships, provided that the total annual funding does not exceed the cost of the expenses, plus a reasonable sum for the maintenance in a given year (as determined by the UCL).

7. University College London (UCL) Commonwealth Shared Scholarships for Developing Commonwealth Countries

The Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Program, in partnership with the University College London (UCL), offers MSc students from developing countries of the Commonwealth the opportunity to study in the UK.

The Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Program is a joint initiative of the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (funded by the Department for International Development (DFID) and the British Universities) to fund scholarships for students from developing Commonwealth countries that could not otherwise study in the UK.

Value: The scholarship will cover tuition costs, a maintenance allowance, air travel to and from the United Kingdom at the beginning and end of the university program, as well as additional discretionary allowances.
